Lightship Ambrose
Join a guided tour of 1908 Fighthtship Ambrose at South Street Seaport Museum on Saturdays and Sundays. Visitors can travel the multiple covers of this national historical landmark to see the spaces of life and work once inhabited by the sailors stationed in Ambrose, as well as the special features that allow the ship to fulfill their mission to stay at the station, being Lakes and being heard. Ambrose is the first vessel to join the fleet of the museum of the sea port and the first farce to protect the largest shipping channel inside and outside the ports of New York and New Jersey, the Ambrose Channel.
Guided tours leave per hour and last approximately 30 minutes. Advance reservations are recommended. Guests must register 15 minutes before the tour at the reception at 12 Fulton Street. Access to Ambrose requires walking through the angle gateway. The stairs lead to the lower covers.
